Together We Are Family

With uncertainty lingering around all corners, families have the big task of managing all the change elements. As parents, what does your new normal look like? As children, when will all this be over? These are common questions now-a-days that often are left unanswered. In fact, no one really has the answers to those questions right now. Nonetheless, life will go on and we will be required to get back to the high demand lifestyle we are so used to. Adults will go back to work, pay bills and children will return to school and go back to doing homework, eventually. Although there is some obvious uncertainty, we do know that there has been tremendous devastation in a way we could not have imaged prior to Covid-19. As the nation begins to open back up and with the attempt to heal an injured economy our communities will strive to bring things back to health. While our communities do so our families will also attempt to get back to business as usual.

Open Communication with each other

Mother and Children on a Sofa
DDuring these times it is more important than ever to stay present while spending family time. Put away those screens and really open the floor up for deep talk about life and how it will change in the coming weeks. Create space in the day and allow for free-flowing thoughts to fill the conversation between all family members. Parents, take the time to listen to you children and how they are feeling about socializing with friends and returning back to outdoor activities. Children should have the same mindset by listening to how their parents are feeling about their concerns at this time. The more we practice this type of communication the better we will be at doing it.

Relationship Building

It is important to develop positive and fulfilling relationships within the family. Researchers have found that daily interactions help kids grow via a relationship that aids in social adjustment, raises graduation rates, and improves children’s mental health. These interactions have to be more than just physical. Parents need to invest their time-and time truly is an investment. This will help foster the type of relationship needs for your children to hit all the necessary developmental milestones needed for success later in life.

Stay Connected in your Relationship

How to stay connected in my relationship?     When we talk about relationships, we often first think of them from a romantic standpoint. Flaws in the Juvenile Justice System

JFlaws in the juvenile justice system, juvenile justice system in America, juvenile justice system in US. Flaws in the Juvenile Justice System in US While the nation sings in chorus that kids are our future, does the juvenile justice system in America treat children alike? The American justice system does not seem to do justice to every kid. You will hear the same voice across the country. The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Program reveals that 48,043 juveniles were incarcerated in residential facilities in October 2015 across the United States.  While the need for welfare has always been stressed in place of punishment, the number of juveniles appearing before the courts has been steadily rising. The juvenile justice system in America thus looks flawed and makes a mockery of its vision of delivering welfare. Unfortunately, too many young people are locked up in jails for petty crimes.  What are the Flaws in the Justice System The American criminal justice system h...
